In the 1990's, Keilwerth stenciled a saxophone for Buffet called the 'Expression' and that model has a Keilwerth serial number. The modern Buffet 400 (and similar) are Asian-made and do not follow these serial number charts. The Bundy in question here is from approximately 1950 to date. Hi guys, I have a Buescher alto saxophone in possession and I have absolutely no concrete information on this beauty. The serial number is 84xxx and right under it is a fading '20A.' In the 1990's, Keilwerth stenciled a saxophone for Buffet called the 'Expression' and that model has a Keilwerth serial number. A vintage buescher elkhart alto saxophone- serial# 71007 20a. The saxophone is a lacquer gold tone color with mother of pearl keys.
'The Elkhart' By Buescher Alto Saxophone. Serial Number 37557 Model Number 20A. SOLD This is a really nice alto sax. You can see by the left-hand pinkie plateau and the bell key guard that it is a Buescher-built horn. And it is marked under the serial number with the model number of '20A'. These horns sound great and play great. The record is much less complete after 1936. Instruments manufactured after 1936 range in serial number from 1350-3600. The log book shows the serial numbers jumping around quite a bit for the Selmer/Adolphe Sax saxophones. Even so, its possible from this record to assemble a basic serial number chart for these instruments.
